Home Theater Sectional
Sectionals, or sectional couches, are seats that are made up of multiple sections, usually from two to four.
There is a blurry line between sectional and home theater seating actually. In the past, sectionals only referred to couches you find in family rooms, and not in a home theater. With the advent of home theaters; that is, rooms dedicated solely to the enjoyment of digital entertainment, sectional couch makers have crossed the blurry line.
These furniture makers started making sectionals that incorporated the qualities of the typical home theater seating. This includes the extras, like cup holders, snack bins, and built-in sound accessories. These makers include Berkline and Lane, both well-regarded furniture makers.
They have come up with sectionals like Lane’s Expo, which combines an armless recliner, a one-arm recliner, an ottoman, and a loveseat. Likewise, Berkline has several sectional models that incorporate their ButtKicker home theater technology.
There are a couple of considerations between getting a sectional home theater seating as opposed to getting traditional home theater seating:
1. Available room: Will the width of your room fit a sectional such that the seats are all at the right viewing distance and angle from the screen? This is very important because you would not want anyone leaving your media room with a sore neck.
2. Expected number of regular audience: How many people are in your family? Do you watch shows together? We all would want everyone to get comfortable when watching his or her favorite shows. A sectional may be a better option if you expect a big audience and do not have room to fit a recliner for each person.
